This can be kick started with simple changes like sorting rubbish out and making recycling simple and accessible, allowing washing to dry on balconies (instead of using the dryer), or putting efficient lighting in public areas.

Top tips for everyday energy saving:
- Is your water too hot? Your cylinder thermostat should be set at 60°C/140°F.
- Close your curtains at dusk to stop cool air or heat escaping through the windows and check for draughts around windows and doors.
- Always turn off the lights when you leave a room.
- Don't leave appliances on standby and remember not to leave laptops and mobile phones on charge unnecessarily.
- If possible, fill up the washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher: one full load uses less energy than two half loads.
- Only boil as much water as you need for your morning coffee or afternoon tea
- A dripping hot water tap wastes energy and in one week wastes enough hot water to fill half a bath, so fix leaking taps and make sure they're fully turned off!
- Use energy saving light-bulbs. They last up to 10 times longer than ordinary bulbs.

I think it's a good idea. I don't live in the area but I travel up there every now and then for falimy things. It would be a good place if we wanted to take our dogs up for a trip, etc.My one concern would be about controlling the dogs if they were to get into any fights or possibly attack any owners. I know it's probably unlikely to happen, but you never know.So is it a free public facility or do you have to be a member and pay fees, etc?
